imo the instructions in the wiki need some work because I'm buggered if I can make it work sendfirm sends *something* to the player - but rebooting it makes no visible difference it just goes straight back into WinCE for the record, in case anyone can spot what I'm doing wrong, this is the sequence I've done : mtp-sendfile of freshly built rockbox.gigabeat (for the S of course, not the F/X) to the device then built the bootloader then run mknkboot /home/me/original_nk.bin /home/me/rockbox/build-gbs/nk.bin new_nk.bin and finally sendfirm new_nk.bin at which point the S resets itself and then plonks itself straight back to the Windows PMP front end mtp-files shows three files on the device : DevIcon.fil, DevLogo.fil and rockbox.gigabeat, in that order. It's impossible to delete the first two - they just get re-created ridicule/instructions welcome at this point oh I even tried this with a "turn it on with left and windows button held" to wipe the old firmware out didn't make a blind bit of difference
