Dr. Paul, you have stated in the past that Iran does not pose a threat to the United States. The current US administration seems to disagree. Has the Bush administration been wrong all this time? How would your policy for Iraq and the Middle-East reduce a potential threat to the USA and our troops? Dr. Paul, you have said "Congress proposes spending roughly $3 trillion in 2008. About one-third of this $3 trillion is so-called discretionary spending; the remaining two-thirds is deemed “mandatory” entitlement spending, which means mostly Social Security and Medicare." How will this be paid-for if we eliminate the income tax and allow people to opt-out of these programs? Dr. Paul, I understand how the Fed pumps money into the system and creates inflation, which hurts wage-earners, people on fixed incomes and people with savings accounts. But how come so many "economists" seem to be OK with all of it? Dr. Paul, in a November interview with the editors of the Nashua Daily Telegraph you stated that Congress should remove the jurisdiction of the federal courts, including the Supreme Court, on matters such as abortion, sexual practices and same-sex marriage.[1] You have actually introduced legislation to achieve this goal, namely the We the People Act, however as one editor pointed out the Supreme Court would be able to overturn such legislation as unconstitutional in itself. Would such legislation not set a dangerous precedent?
