Satire Management at Fox Broadcasting Company has recently announced their decision to continue their popular TV Series Family Guy without the head director and creator, Seth MacFarlane. The announcement came shortly after news of the Writers Guild of America's Strike which MacFarlane is currently participating in. The writer's strike which started on November 5th is already into its 6th week so far. If conssesions are not made soon the WGA strike is posed to overtake the 1988 strike in both length and damage to the American media industry. TV shows all across America has been canceled, and major channels have been forced to air only re-runs. Fox's decision to continue without MacFarlane will most likely result in a re-vamping of the content of the show. Family Guy which airs Sundays on Fox is a cartoon about a dysfunctional family living in the fictional town Quahog, Rhode Island. Not to be confused with the cartoon The Simpsons which is about a dysfunctional family living in the fictional town of Springfield or the cartoon South Park which is about many dysfunctional families living in the fictional town of South Park, Colorado. Upon questioning on his decisions to join the WGA strike, Mr. MacFarlane is adamant that he is doing the right thing. “We are here today [striking] to attempt to negotiate an increase in profits from DVD sales and other digital media platforms” MacFarlane dutifully reads off of his 3 by 5 index card. Writers all around him simultaneously whip out their 3 by 5 index cards and recite the same verse into the camera. Off camera however, MacFarlane feels differently. “I think the real reason that many of these guys out there striking is the same as mine” he says. “I think they're out there because they can't think of new material to write about.” And its true, writers throughout the strike are using this time to come up with new material. However, the truth of the matter is they can't come up with new material. Which leads this newspaper to come to the conclusion that everything original in the world has already been written about. MacFarlane agrees saying “You know, I try really hard these days but really we're just using old movie scripts from past years.” Without direction or new material the television industry has definitely stagnated as of late. “I give up!” MacFarlane said. Frustrated that he can not come up with anything creative. “Everything to be satirized has already been satirized by South Park in their attempt to come up with material to satirize something that the Simpsons hasn't already done!” That is correct. Seth MacFarlane creator of the hit TV Show Family Guy on Fox blames the WGA strike on the Simpsons. “If it weren't for those infuriating Simpsons satirizing everything already I would still have a job.” MacFarlane makes certain that we understand this fact, making note to us that South Park has done nothing wrong. In fact he congratulates South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for airing an episode outlining the impending doom soon to come. The episode noted is from South Park's sixth season. The episode called “Simpsons Already Did It” is number seven out of seventeen in the season. The episode is prophetic in nature. Creator Matt Stone was attempting to prevent the situation we are now in today. In the episode a Professor Chaos played by Butters attempts to bring chaos to the town. However, he is stopped at every turn because the Simpsons had already accomplished each task. “I don't understand how people didn't get it!” Trey Parker tells us. “Nobody takes prophets seriously nowadays” He carefully explains to us, the episode is in season six, six times my age (24) is 144. 144 plus nine divided by the number of episodes in the season is nine. Nine and nine makes ninety nine. 99 times 6734 is 666,666. Thats two times the sign of the devil! “I don't understand how anyone could miss it!”. So there you have it folks. The comedy apocalypse is coming near and the Simpsons is the anti-christ. It has already been foreseen by the prophets MacFarlane, Stone, and Parker. For if they said it, it must be true. We must now brace ourselves for a 200 years of nothing funny. Consequently, since everything in the world has already been satirized, this student could not come up with anything to write a satire about. I hope everyone enjoyed the report, thank you very much.
