A television image accuracy improving device converts an interlaced television signal to a progressive television signal, while maintaining progressive frame rate equal to frame rate of original interlaced signal, thus preserving full temporal resolution, and maintains full vertical resolution by constructing a progressive frame from two consecutive interlaced fields by plain merging of stationary frame regions, and by linear interpolation of regions with the detected movement.
