Internal NoteKeep getting "Fatal Error: Controller monitor failed. Controller not started" for the RAID card. This would cause the card to think that the raid bios was not installed. Was able to get into raid config after loading default settings for bios. However, after a reboot the message would come back up. Even after the error didn't come back up and I was able to get to the installation of fedora, I got another error message when trying to create the partitions. "Host adapter reset request. SCSI hang ?" was the message that came up when I switched to the fourth console during partition setup. Will need to RMA card. It's an Adaptec ASR-3405 (PCI-e x8). Left card in server so other noc can try and see if they have better luck. Will have to do text install of FC6 as display for install was fuzzy in graphics mode. When booting the system the 2810SA startup stays at "Booting the controller kernel......." for a long time then times out. Eventually this error comes up: "Fatal Error: Controller Monitor failed controller not started." To resolve this problem you must either change to non-Adaptec RAID card or change the motherboard to one with PCB revision 1.2. Also keep in mind that hdparm is made for IDE devices. I see that the tests still come back with a value, so I think the hardware is good now and it is just a software issue. The stress test you are running now should give you a good indication of what the machine can handle. There are no more I/O errors coming up in the system logs, the problem before was with the XFS partition that was created in the installer the first time.
