ok. reason i asked is for some reason warped is reporting unknown to if feature packets are enabled or not. so i been trying to figure out what going on with the feature packets on my server, i put debug statements in both readFeatures() and getFeature in feature.c. Here's my ERRORS log output for a login attempt: http://pastebin.ca/839880 features seem to be read in fine (verified the path to features file was correct), and the fact that it reads in the correct number of features is good..but somehow between read and get, the number of features disappears! and i can't see where in the code the variable num_features could be set to 0 quick scan of feature.c shows that if the calloc fails (near line 106) it could happen. that's the only thing that jumps out at me. i added in an error statement in case that failed. didn't show up in output you should have seen the perror output from the same stanza that resets num_features if it actually failed ok i found the problem patch : * Don't kill admin observers on geno can anyone replicate this feature packet problem? with that patch unpulled, works fine. pull it, feature packets break well it removed a static variable..and i'm having issues with a static variable. i reran configure and did make reallyclean not sure what else i could do to be absolutely sure to simulate a clean install well i isolated it to just 1 line : hunk ./Vanilla/ntserv/ntscmds.c 1073 -static int authorised = 0; which would indicate to me..there's a problem with some memory block not being reassigned? why would removing a static int in one file affect the rest of the program?
