Old setup:

Conntected to the mainboard:
       3x IDE HDs
       1x DVD-RW
       2x SATA HDs

Installed "NetCell RAID-Controller"
       1x SATA HD

In order to get the RAID-Controller working in the first place, I needed to connect the controller and the harddisk in a Windows-Box where I installed the NetCell-Windows drivers and utilities and configured the Controller to "JBOD"-mode. After I that I put the RAID-Controller and the harddisk back into my Ubuntu-System and finally was able to fdisk/mkfs the harddisk.
