Table Tennis Captain's Report This year's side has been an improvement on past years in many ways. We have had many highs and lows, giving our competetors a much higher degree of difficulty to play against. While in the 1st VI team, this is not immediately evident as the game scores, only one win for the season, do not reflect this, the set scores and the amount of pressure we put on our opponents shows just how far we have come since the fouding of GGS table tennis, especially with so many of the other school's players coming from state, and even national teams. With the 2nds being undefeated thus far, with only one week of summer 2008 APS competition remaining, suggests next year's competition will be even fiercer. I'm sure in the years to come the game scores will start to turn in our favour, especially with the endeavour of the middle school players that play on a friday night at the geelong pennant. Although middle school sport saw the removal of table tennis, the friday night pennant gives our younger players a chance to play against our 1st and 2nd players, and the better players of geelong. This will lift the talent that our dedicated external coaches, Jim and Claire Montgomery will receive and have to work on in year 10, and hopefully in a few years, yield a few more wins. We would like to thank all our coaches, especially Ms. Sun (TIC) and Jim and Claire Montgomery, our two external coaches from the Geelong Table Tennis Center.
