KHotNewStuff2. The hottest thing since sliced bread. KHotNewStuff2 is the successor to KHotNewStuff. It provides compatibility with KHotNewStuff web repositories, while adding more features with the use of DXS specification using web 2.0 soap technology. Some existing KDE applications are using this technology to enable easy sharing of their data. All applications need data of some kind or another. Data can be shared by adding it to svn, getting it shipped with your distro, or by yourself ultimately. The ultimate aim of KHotNewStuff2 is to make data collaboration as easy as it is to collaborate on code if not more so. This presentation of the abilities and features of KHotNewStuff2 and DXS specification will benefit many KDE applications and their respective authors. I will present the state of the current development, how it is used in some applications, a couple use cases I've been presented with, and walk through using it in an application. Jeremy Whiting Jeremy whiting has been working on KDE since early 2007. Not long, but in that time has contributed to Parley's document library, KAnagram, KHotNewStuff2, the colors kcm, and other projects here and there.
