David Rodriguez is an excellent example of how to be a good citizen. There are many people who complain about how the police are not effective enough, yet they fail to take the initiative and do something about it themselves. You don't have to be a retired cop to try to make your community a better place to live in. Most neighborhoods have neighborhood watches that one can join.  If not, push neighbors to set one up. Playing an active part in the community by looking out for suspicious individuals will aid the police in catching criminals and making the streets safer for children to play on.
