As the enlightenment website says: "Enlightenment is the building blocks to create beautiful applications", and what needs to be more beautiful that a presentation ? Modern presentations need beautiful texts, animations, background and EFL can provide this. The project consists to write a specification to create the presentation, some presentation themes with edje, a viewer application and an editor. The specification will have to contain the possiblity to create a new slide, add a title, a list of item, picture, to choose transitions ... For example it will be easy to add an animate logo on the first page, add interactivity, a shadow under the text, greats effects during a transition. The aim is to get something simple to use like Beamer does with latex, a simple ASCII file more readable that XML. Something like : slide{ title="the title"; transition-effects="rotate"; item{ \item why using edje ? \subitem because it's beautiful } edjefile{"picture.edj"} } With this file ,and others externs file like picture, and a presentation theme a program will generates an edje file. This program will have to parse the file presentation but, as the file have to be easily editable, the parser is not supposed to be complicated. Then a viewer application will uses the edje presentation file to show the presentation. The user can go forward and backward in the presentation, activate or deactivate transitions and some others things. Have an application without extern dependency will be great but not easy. I'm not sure an evas engine can be compiled statically. Else compress the executable and libraries in an archive auto-extractible is an idea too. The aim is to get something that we can use on a machine without EFL. Finally a second application for helping to create a presentation can be written. Something like a list of slides, the user select a slide and edit the slide in an editor and a preview of the slide can be shown. A syntax's help will be available.
