So yeah. This is a topic that's going to be telling you how to make a good recruitment topic, because I've skimmed over a ton of them and quite a few of them are terrible. There's quite a few things you need to avoid, and quite a few things you need to realize. What you need to realize: -The people you are going to be asking for help are going to be investing their time into working on your project, possibly missing out on other monetary revenues by doing such. As such you should make it easy for them to find all the information they need without wasting their time as it is. Post a lengthy story, detail your features, post lots of screenshots, specify exactly what you need. You need to shoot for a mini-project topic, except instead of advertising your topic to the general populace, you need to advertise it to meet the needs of who you need help from. Some things to avoid: -"PM me for more information": Never. Ever. Do. This. It's a waste of time, and 90% of the people who would help you, won't just after seeing this line. -"I know it's cliche, but it won't be later" Not only does this information matter little, but time has shown that it most likely will be cliche. Not that this is a bad thing. The line itself isn't needed at all and should be avoided at all costs as it can turn people off of your game. -Low information: The more info you have (albeit: concise) the better. -Asking people to be nice: Not everyone is going to be nice, and indeed, sometimes the only time to beat the idea across to people is to be harsh. This isn't even against the rules either, as long as they provide constructive criticism in the process. Learn the difference between "flaming" and "criticism" as the latter is something you should take in stride, harsh or not. Generally if someone is being harsh, it means they want you to succeed but your topic frustrates them a lot. -Lack of work: Not only is this against the rules, but you need to post work. Show proof you've done a lot of stuff. The more that you've already done, the more chance someone will come help you because they can see that your game a) has a better chance of being finished, and b) you aren't just looking for someone to make your game for you. An example of a good recruitment topic: VXHack VXHack is my project I am making in RPG Maker VX, and I am currently looking for help. Here is some more information on my game, if you are interested:
In VXHack, you play a group of 4 chosen heroes, who together are hired to clear various dungeons, etc. I'll admit it, the story is very light, because the game is currently being made to emulate the rougelike genre in RPG Maker VX, akin to games like Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. These games don't really have stories, instead focusing on providing an engaging dungeon crawl experience, which is what I am shooting for.

VXHack features a modified Default Battle System, which supports an endless number of status ailments on each character at once, casting times for skills, recharge times for skills, an ammo system for bows/guns, and over 100 custom scripted skill effects including such originals as "Reflect" to new original effects such as "Chain Healing" which heals people in a chain you choose, for less healing after each "arc", over time. VXHack also features an indepth crafting system, supporting 10 professions, 150 different materials, and over 500 recipes which will be found in dungeons, purchased, or learned. VXHack also features an item rarity system, so you can see how rare your items are at a glance. In addition, it has a randomized loot drop system, which randomly assigns loot from 1 of 100 different loot tables, and factors in over 10 statistics on what loot you receive. VXHack also features a complicated monster AI, completely removing stupid decisions through a blend of careful event programming, and advanced scripting functions.

You will want to include at the minimum, ~4 screenshots, and at the most 20-30. They should include various locations, battles, parts of the game etc. Variety is key here. Show not just normal things (another pic of Cloud in a desert....) show cool stuff like some awesome battles, or story points, etc. More importantly show screenshots from various points in your game, not just the beginning.

I need a spriter, who will be able to create about 15 new original sprites that will fit in with the RTP graphics, in addition to ~5 new monsters. They will have to fit in with the RMVX graphic restrictions. These will be familiar monsters, nothing unusual, I assure you. For sprites, the 15 new original sprites are going to need to be "townpersons", ie: civillians, with various looks. I don't really care how they look, as long as their is an even number of male/female, 1 of each for kids, the rest all adults who look different. For monsters, I need: a Satyr, a Lizardman Archer, an Undead Wizard, a Mimic (treasure chest that eats people), and a living rock cavern wall.
If you need to contact me you can contact me at: XXX@YYY.com. Thanks. That is a well made topic. It gives all the information you need to give, without forcing the person to go through long alternate means (e-mail/PM/etc), while being concise and not very wordy. It's not an "excellent" topic by any means (features could be expanded on more, actual really good screenshots, more descriptions on the monsters etc) but it's a good one, and one that will probably get you the help you need.
