<{Phoinix}> Hi, Running ioquake3.x86_64, there is a Strange thing happening. When using open VPN, ioquake3 crashes at launch, with "Segmentation fault" <{Phoinix}> Here is the log from stdout: http://pastebin.ca/991823 <{Phoinix}> o_O when using openvpn? what version are you using of ioquake3? and how can you "use" openvpn with quake3? you connect ioq3 into the opening lolol <{Phoinix}> Thilo, version is seen in the pastebin: ioq3 1.35 linux-x86_64 Apr 19 2008 <{Phoinix}> Openvpn is used, to access certain Private networks. When openvpn is running, ioquake crashes at launch <{Phoinix}> as seen in the log <{Phoinix}> When i disable to openvpn , ioquake launches ok * DerSaidin αποχώρησε ("#Adversus") yes ok <{Phoinix}> It seems to be affected only at launch time, If i launch openvpn with ioquake running, it's ok it will probably crash at network initialization do you know how to use a debugger <{Phoinix}> unfortonatelly no or compile ioquake3 with "make debug" please yeah just do as i say ;-) it's not difficult <{Phoinix}> strace helps? no. <{Phoinix}> ok tell me when your compile has finished <{Phoinix}> ok.. runinng it now <{Phoinix}> compiling it now * <{Phoinix}> with make debug <{Phoinix}> it has finished check whether "gdb" is installed on your distribution run gdb and tell me what it says <{Phoinix}> installing it now <{Phoinix}> how should i run gdb? when you are in the directory where you typed make debug cgdb ./build/debug-linux-x86_64/ioquake3.x86_64 wrong gdb ./build/debug-linux-x86_64/ioquake3.x86_64 then you should be in the gdb commando prompt <{Phoinix}> i've runned it that way, doesn't seem to produce output yes wait patience <{Phoinix}> ok :) use run +set in_nograb 0 +set fs_basepath /path/to/your/quake3/installation in the gdb prompt to start it <{Phoinix}> ok i usually do gdb --args ./ioquake3.x86 +set ...etc hehe just means you get the arguments in your shell history <{Phoinix}> nice :) <{Phoinix}> http://pastebin.ca/991877 <{Phoinix}> the tun0 interface is the openvpn tunneling interface enter command "bt" now and give me the result <{Phoinix}> http://pastebin.ca/991879 <{Phoinix}> it's appended in the end of the log ok i didnt think of the case when an interface has no associated address <{Phoinix}> :) trivial fix will be in svn in a minute thx for your infos :) what name do you want to be mentioned in svn? <{Phoinix}> wow! thanks for the support :) <{Phoinix}> :) PhoinixGR well i wrote that code so i am interested in having it bug-free * StealthCP (n=stealthc@server88-208-235-63.live-servers.net) συνδέθηκε στο #ioquake3 <{Phoinix}> really? oustading work. Used to play with openarena engine, but had lot of problems <{Phoinix}> And switched to ioquake update your svn repository and recompile bug should be fixed :-) <{Phoinix}> ok, trying now. I'l keep you updated it was part of my work including ipv6 support into ioquake3, so there may be some edges still :) a more official announce will be made this evening <{Phoinix}> trying now :) <{Phoinix}> flawless :) Thanks Thilo
